Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced that Boston Scientific will establish a new global medical device distribution facility in Plainfield, Indiana, creating up to 300 high-wage jobs and investing approximately $138 million in the project.

The company plans to construct and equip a 500,000-square-foot facility at Plainfield Innovation Park to support and expand its U.S.-based distribution and logistics operations. The facility will incorporate advanced technology, light manufacturing capabilities, and regulatory-compliance processes. Once operational, it will serve as a global distribution hub for Boston Scientific’s medical devices, supporting the company’s mission to provide healthcare solutions to more than 48 million patients annually. Construction is expected to begin later this year.

Governor Braun said the investment strengthens Indiana’s position as a leader in life sciences and medical device innovation while creating new opportunities for Hoosiers to build high-skilled, high-paying careers.

The announcement aligns with Braun’s recently unveiled $1 billion, 10-year initiative to expand Indiana’s agricultural and life sciences sectors, create 100,000 high-wage jobs, and position the state as a premier destination for human, animal, and plant health innovation.

Robin Brandgard, president of the Plainfield Town Council, said the project validates the community’s vision for its innovation corridor, where life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and logistics can grow together through continued investment in infrastructure, connectivity, and quality of life.
